...

It's been a long time since the last time I posted. I meant to post earlier but then I either keep knitting or go to sleep-I'm such a procrastinator.

Amber, I have NO IDEA what I'm going to do with the Debbie Bliss yarn. I think I have to just do a scarf and hat out of it, because I only have 550 yards which is probably not enough for a sweater...unless I do a shrug or bolero or something..or maybe Glampyre's minisweater!

Yesterday I cast on for a pair of socks using that Wildfoote yarn. Its going to be toe-up. And boy, let me tell you, that figure eight cast on is no joke. So I gave that up and found the easy toe on Knitty's website. So I'm doing this pattern.

I only did the toe last night before I passed out and worked on the foot all day today. I was at 5.5 inches from the cast on and only need to have 7.2 inches before doing the heel-maybe I'll get to that tonight. I should be studying though; I've successfully managed to avoid doing that all weekend.

Hope everyone enjoyed watching the olympics/knitting for the knitting olympics!

yummy yarn

Here's my first Jaywalker sock. I changed the types on increases and decreases the pattern called for b/c they took me too long to do. And I want to finish stuff. B/c it takes me long enough to finish things.

Now here's some yummy yarn I bought today and yesterday. The black in the bag is Debbie Bliss Merino Chunky that I got on sale at my LYS for 40% off. It was an inpulse purchase. Damn tiny balls dont have hardly any yardage. UGH i hate 50 g balls.

The two purple skeins are from yesterday. If you notice that the bigger one is Gems Opal, which is the yarn that they use for the socks in the Spring 2006 Interweave Knits! I cant wait to start those!
And the wildfoote as you see. I've never heard of it bef
ore. I will write more in the next entry about the lys that i got the sock yarns from. My arm hurts now. This is old but still new to me as I havent knit with any of these before. There's paton's kroy sock yarn, Bernat Satin, KOIGU PPM, and LORNA'S LACES

Finito!

Well one anyway. I just finished my first jaywalker. Right like 2 min before midnight. Pics tomorrow due to laziness.

Almost

I've almost finished my first jaywalker sock. I was closer to finishing than I thought, when I measured how much more of the foot I had to do was just about an inch, maybe a little more-and that was without knitting anymore after I posted last night. So I've started the decreases-and I managed to knit while watching the olympics-even during the ice dancing! So I'm proud of myself b/c that means knitting without much looking, even on the decreases/increases.

Sore

Today was a good day for knitting. I got quite a bit done, and as a result my pinky and ring finger of my right hand are sore from being curled so much today (I'm an English knitter). I know the amount of knitting I did today is nowhere near the amount of other knitters; I get distracted by blog reading. And I take really long naps.

I was going to knit while watching the Olympics but I only got to do so during the speedskating portion that I caught. The ice dancing is just too facinating to try to knit and watch at the same time. Especially since I was working on the Jaywalker at that time. Ok so here are some progress pictures.

This is right after I turned the heel

Here is where I stopped last night-the end of the gussett decreases

And here is where I am right now.
Doesnt seem like a lot but that's a l
ot of rounds on those tiny size 1 needles.

I also finally started a sleeve of my Accordion. I've already done the 3rd increase for it but it seems like it's a bit loose so I might end up not increasing for awhile. I dunno, we shall see.

Soo I'm proud of myself b/c I usually dont get this much done. I'm sure I'll be knitting some more tonight, although I'm not sure which one I feel like working on.

Finally

I've finally been able to knit some after this horrible week of having 4 tests! I've made quite a bit of jaywalker progress-I did the heel flap last night when I shoulve been studying and now I'm working on the gusset after turning the heal. So I feel like I've accomplished a lot. I just took some pics but I'll post them later b/c I plan on working on them some more. Esp. since I probably won't be doing much tonight.

Button, Button,

Thanks to Jack I've managed to get some buttons linking to some of my fav knitting blogs as well as Knit Alongs that I will be participating in.

I've come a long way on the front of my sweater. I last measured at 12.5 inches. That was about an hour ago. I start doing the neck and shoulder shapings at 20.5 inches. Can't wait. I want to finish this sweater!!!
Sorry the pic is so dark, i didnt feel like moving over to my light source. ha, can we say "lazy?"

My Jaywalker sock is coming along slowly because I'm working on it a couple of rows at a time.
I just officially signed up for the Sock a Month KAL!

I keep starting, but not finishing

As the title states, I've started a pair of Jaywalker socks and a scarf. But I'm still knitting on the accordion sweater and the other trial pair of socks in lb magic stripes. I'm not liking the way those look though. I should start using my good sock yarn, but I'm afraid I'll mess it up haha. And I don't have a ball winder.
The scarf is just a turquoise and pink striped scarf knitted in garter stitch length wise. The yarn is Lion Brand Wool-ease (the pink is leftover from the wristwarmers) doubled up on size 15 needles.
Ok I should go study (knit) some more.

Wristwarmers are a hit!

WITH BOYS!! I showed Jack them and he wanted to wear them! So I let him. His roommate and his friend saw them and wanted me to make them some too! Although more masculine of course. Ha! I should charge! Hey, this is a golden opportunity for me to make up my own pattern!!! We'll see though, I'm sure the other two will forget all about it.

Finito!

I FINALLY finished my wristwarmers! I was all set to finish them last night but as soon as I got out of the shower after working out, I saw a text from Caitlin asking if I wanted to go to the club. So I went. It was fun too! The DJ played some good music!!!!

Anyways, so here they are. I had to wing the mattress stitch because the video on knittinghelp.com wasn't loading for me correctly. But I think I did it right. Above is where they were last night. All I had to do today was 7 rows of ribbing and the seaming of both.

Yarn: Bernat Berella 4 some pink color
Needles: Boyle size 8 16" circulars
Pattern: Irish Hiking Wristwarmers
Finished: February 1, 2006
